The Wheatley School
Here you will find news and updates about the ReFill Project at the place where it all began.
THE BOTTLES HAVE ARRIVED.
THEY WILL BE SOLD AT THE WALK-A-THON 10/28 AND LATER THIS MONTH IN SCHOOL
PLEASE BRING IN $5
The first two refill stations have been installed. One in the 100s hallway and the other by the girl's side of the gym. 2 more are expected to be installed within the next few weeks. More posters will be going up soon, and during Earth Week, you can order a custom stainless steel reusable bottle. Visit earthlust.com for information on the new bottles.
The green ticker counts how much landfill waste has been prevented. The ticker reads: "Helped eliminate waste from ____ disposable plastic bottles". So far the count is at 514 (on 3/21/12). Let's make it our goal to reach 5000 by the end of the school year. To help reach the target, order a custom bottle during Earth week and start refilling!
Just to answer a few questions about the ReFill stations:
The main difference between a bottle filling station and a regular water fountains is the Elkay filter in the filling station. This filter delivers the cleanest, best tasting water available in school...cleaner than the water in the plastic bottles you get in the cafeteria. The filling stations are also much better for filling up your bottle, because they have no-touch sensors and the water is dispensed from above the bottle. If you haven't used it yet, I encourage you to give it a try and taste for yourself.
